This bit of Peanut wood began its life as a conifer tree on land in the area now known as Western Australia. When these trees died, rivers carried them into a shallow, salty epicontinental sea that covered much of what is now the Australian continent.

These pieces are hand cut + ethically sourced here in Australia.

They arrived at the sea as a piece of driftwood. This was during the Cretaceous time period, when a species of marine clam that loved to eat wood lived in the Australian sea. The clam larvae were able to smell nearby wood and swim to it. When they arrived at a piece of driftwood, once their carnage was done and the wood has a chance to prettified, we are left with this stunning markings in stone.

Profile: K nown as the “Stone of the Earth,” peanut wood jasper is a survival stone renowned for grounding and stabilising emotions. During difficult times, a piece of petrified wood is believed to provide strength and support to the wearer by providing insight into cause and effect
